The Boat Race
First raced in 1829 and 1927 respectively, The Cancer Research UK Boat Races are amongst the oldest sporting events in the world.  Sunday 2nd April will see the running of the 163rd Boat Race and 72nd Women's Boat Race, both now taking place on the Championship Course on the Thames. Watched by thousands along the banks of the Tideway, between Putney and Mortlake in London, and by millions more on TV around the world, The Cancer Research UK Boat Races are a unique sporting event. With four particularly strong squads of athletes, expect to see more thrilling contests once again this year.
Independent Label Market
Since launching on Berwick St in May 2011, Independent Label Market has brought together the founders of over 250 of the World's greatest independent record labels on both sides of the Atlantic to sell their fresh vinyl produce directly to the public at that traditional goods exchange - a market stall. Serious record collectors should head to Old Spitalfields Market this Saturday, where there will be DJs on rotation throughout the day and beers from London craft brewers to sip on while you flick through thousands of LPs. The market is open from 11am-6pm but get there early to snap up the rarest vinyl and test pressings from the traders.
