Twin Peaks Festival
Just as David Lynch's nightmarish telenovela returned to screens earlier this year, so too the Official Twin Peaks UK Festival returns to London this weekend. Fans of them eerie melodrama will get to meet major characters including eyebrow-wielding Audrey Horne (Sherilyn Fenn), sagacious Deputy Hawk (Michael Horse) and is-it-us-or-is-he-really-dull? James Hurley (James Marshall).The festival, now in its eighth year, transforms Hornsey Town Hall into a Lynchian realm of sinister cabaret and endless cherry pie — recreating the Great Northern Hotel bar (not the one in King's Cross), Double R Club, Roadhouse (not the one in Covent Garden) and Black Lodge. You also get to climb inside a train car and witness the brutal slaughter of Laura Palmer. Something to look forward to then. The Official Twin Peaks UK Festival is at Hornsey Town Hall, from 7-8 October. Tickets from £65.
Cloister by Club Gascon
Club Gascon specialises in imaginative cuisine from the South West of France. Sc Michelin star (since 2002).As part of its temporary closure whilst the restaurant is undergoing refurbishment, Club Gascon is launching a pop-up at the beautiful cloisters of London’s oldest church, St Bartholomew-the-Great, where guests can enjoy a three- or four-course tasting menu - Cloister by Club Gascon. A vegetarian menu will also be available and guests can pair their experience with a wine flight or matching tea. Do hurry though the pop-up has been incredibly popular and is only open until Friday (6th October).
