Pay-what-you-like fundraiser in aid of Grenfell Tower residents
On Saturday 17th June, Michelin-awarded chef Adam Simmonds will host a fundraiser at his restaurant, The Test Kitchen in Soho, to help the residents of Grenfell Tower. Guests are asked to pay as much as they’d like for their meal, with every single penny raised donated to the Just Giving Families of Grenfell Tower appeal. The chef said, ‘This is a shocking tragedy and this is my small way of supporting those affected by the fire.’ We take our hat off to him. Alternatively, you can donate here.
Daddy Cool Afternoon Tea
To celebrate Father’s Day, The Marylebone has teamed up with one of London’s oldest luxury barber and groomer’s, Truefitt & Hill, to launch an exclusive pop-up in the hotel’s 108 Pantry. Book your old man in for ‘Daddy Cool Afternoon Tea’ on either Saturday 17th or Sunday 18th June for a selection of man-friendly sweet and savoury treats, such as hearty grilled rib eye steak sandwich and chunky pork and truffle sausage roll, all of which can be washed down with a pint of Guinness (paying homage to The Doyle Collection Irish routes) or a dram of Macallan Gold Whisky. He can then head into the Truefitt & Hill pop-up for a complimentary hot towel wet shave, beard trim or facial. The expert barber is royally appointed by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh and has been open since 1805, embodying the essence of British heritage. They’ll even pack him off with gift samples of Truefitt & Hill shaving cream and balm to help maintain his sharp new look.
