Dulwich Festival Fair on Goose Green
The Dulwich Festival Fair on Goose Green is part of the wider Dulwich Festival. Started in 1993, the Dulwich Festival makes a huge variety of artistic events easily available to the whole Dulwich community and celebrates a range of local talent, both professional and amateur. Run as an independent charity by a small group of volunteers, the Festival this year runs from 12th – 21th May. Now in its 12th year the Dulwich Festival Fair will bring together a selection of the best craftspeople, designers, independent shops, family fun, bars and cafes from East Dulwich.  The event is designed to be a fun, non-profit making day for all the community. There will be lots of activities for the entire family from bouncy castles and face painting for children to a beer tent (provided by East Dulwich Tavern), delicious food stalls and plenty of entertainment. Look out for Anna Jacobs' designs, described by the Evening Standard as ‘exquisite’, and now stocked in Heal’s. Her latest homewares collection is on show including lamps, cushions, limited-edition prints, greeting cards and original paintings.
Herne Hill Free Film Festival
The Herne Hill Free Film Festival is back in 2017 to celebrate its 5th birthday, with its most ambitious programme of films yet. Running between now and 29th May, the festival will be screening 30 free films across 20 venues, with local celebrities and the cast and crew from many of the films making an appearance for talks and Q&A. Why not head down to Effra Early Years Centre on Saturday night for the Oscar-winning Moonlight? It won't cost you a penny. freefilmfestivals.org
