St George's Shakespearean-themed Day
Come and celebrate St George’s Day, with its special Shakespearean theme, plus a feast of English food, live music and free fun for everyone. There’ll be cookery demos from celebrity chefs, stalls selling mouth-watering treats, a beautiful banqueting area and a host of indoor and outdoor family games. The event this year will mark the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, so expect plenty of activities to celebrate his life and legacy. Actors from the Shakespeare’s Globe will be performing a selection of Sonnets at the Feast of St George. The actors who will be performing amongst the crowd will be holding Globe umbrellas so they can be spotted easily. Make sure you keep an eye out during your visit!
Record store day
Record Store Day (22nd April) is the one day of the year when over 200 independent record shops all across the UK come together to celebrate their unique culture. Special vinyl releases are made exclusively for the day and many shops and cities host artist performances and events to mark the occasion. Thousands more shops celebrate the day around the globe in what’s become one of the biggest annual events on the music calendar. Although there’s only one Record Store Day a year, we also work throughout the year to celebrate our independent record stores by spotlighting exclusive releases, events and special news.
